Our Story
SJB Construction Incorporated was started in 1983 by Steve Bollerman. Our craftsman are passionate about residential remodeling with projects such as: second story additions, room additions, kitchen remodeling and more. San Diego has been the only area SJB Construction Inc. has operated in with majority of projects being residential. Our design build process starts with a walk-through in your project area where you can ask anything and expect transparent, honest answers. Our motto is simple, we want to work with the right clients and build you the dream home you want. With remodeling being very competitive and hundreds of unlisenced contractors we have pride in family values and quality of end product. Thanks for keeping us in mind.
Steve Bollerman
Owner & Contractor
Steve‘s vision has always been to build homes so they last as if he were building his own home. Steve attended Boston University with the intention of being an electrical engineer but felt an urge to be closer to his clients and felt his carpentry skills coupled with his knack for numbers and dimensions was a perfect fit for a San Diego home remodeling company. Steve has over 30 years of experience: owns a cabinetry shop, bobcat and dump truck and offers a magnitude of options regarding home improvement. Steve’s passions include: Fishing, Mexico (Punta Chivato Property), Sports, Home Renovation and BBQing.
Steven Bollerman
Lead Carpenter & Officer
Stephen has been building since the age of 15 for the past 12 years and worked for various companies in the industry upon returning as he felt a sense of pride and integrity SJB Construction provided.Steven has a keen sense of attention to detail and a knack to work efficiently in a broad array of specialties including framing and finish work for room additions, second story additions kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling to finish cabinetry. Some of Steven’s passions include: Scuba diving, exercise, home renovation, surfing and sports (football in particular).
Javier Herraez Galvan
Architectural Rendering & Engineering
Javier is SJB Construction Incorporated in-house architectural engineer. Javier or “Javy” as friends call him is the initial visionary of our clients Room Additions, Second Story Remodeling and larger renovations. With a bachelors degree in civil engineering from Alfonso X El Sabio (Spain) and the and a second bachelor’s in construction architecture from Via University (Denmark), Javy has extensive knowledge when it comes to the integrity of your build and design. In his free time Javy enjoys the beach with his wife Monica, camping and as a native of Seville, Spain of course tapas and flamenco. Javi has a passion for both commercial and residential construction and has been in the industry for over 7 years.
Jesse Mesa
Lead Carpenter
Jesse is excellent with carpentry and has extensive background in landscaping. Prior to joining the team at SJB Construction Inc. he worked for a large investor remodeling homes to resell. He prides himself on learning new things everyday and enjoys continually investing in tools and the right equipment for the job. He is an excellent framer and is very safe when on every job. In his spare time he is passionate about guns, his family and lives on a ranch in Jamul.
Javier Moreno
Field Operations
Javier "Javi" Moreno is a San Diego native who prides himself on doing the job right. He has over 10 years experience working in the trades. He initially started as a roofer but has moved on to several roles such as plumbing, carpentry and electrical. Prior to SJB Construction Inc. he served a real estate company with flips so he is used to working with deadlines and a jack of all trades. You will always find Javi with a smile on his face and willing to work hard to get the job done right. He's been with SJB Construction Inc. for over 3 years and doesn't believe in cutting corners.
Edguardo “Junior” Nunes
Residential Foreman
Junior has over 10 years experience working residential remodeling. He has worked for some of the largest construction companies in San Diego and is an excellent source to homeowners that aren't sure how the phases and inspections go. Originally Junior worked as a carpenter but has worked various trades, also spending a good deal of years in drywall texture & finish. You will find Junior on the job, eager to get after the work who has an upbeat happy go lucky attitude. He's been with SJB Construction Inc. 2.5 years and very well versed in room additions and second story additions.
George Neff
Materials & Fieldhand
George Neff has been a fantastic addition to SJB Construction Inc. as he grew up with extensive agricultural background and has over 20 years management experience. Prior to SJB Construction Inc. George worked for the US Postal Service. Seeking something exciting and wanting to get back to working with his hands he found SJB Construction Inc. a great fit. You can find George helping out with various tasks in the field and keeping the job progressing by always thinking ahead with materials and managing each job.
Luis Campos
Electrician
Luis Campos makes all electrical issues look easy. He been an electrician for over 20 years and worked on multi-million dollar projects working for the airport authority and for SDGE. He is very well versed in 2017 electrical code and always happy to explain his work to homeowners. On his free time you will find Luis going for a run, drawing or most likely working because he loves what he does!
